The Right Technology for Interoperability in a Large County

Why did a Sheriff’s Office that serves more than half a million people and dispatches for 16 public safety agencies select New World Systems Aegis/MSP® Public Safety Solutions?

“The technology behind New World Systems’ solutions perfectly matched the County’s requirements and future direction, and the software was unanimously selected by our users,” said Roger Fahnestock, Director of Information Technology for Kane County, Ill.
Faced with old technology that was not meeting their complex multi-jurisdictional needs, Kane County conducted a thorough review of top public safety software vendors and their technology and, other than New World, found them all lacking. The County had the usability and integration requirements of any large agency, and also advanced technological needs based on infrastructure improvements that were made a year before. New World’s commitment to application development in .NET using SQL Server® and advanced Microsoft technology, completely integrated applications, and user-friendly software made the Company the best fit for Kane County.
“Another important aspect for the County is the ability to share information with our neighbors,” said Fahnestock. “We looked at the agencies around us and realized that a significant number of them were using or implementing New World’s public safety solutions. New World is leading the market with their multi-faceted data sharing initiatives.”
In late 2008 and early 2009, Kane County successfully completed the implementation of New World Systems’ Aegis/MSP Records Management, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), and Corrections Management software. New World’s software has helped the Sheriff’s Office and Correctional facility streamline operations and improve investigations by eliminating redundant data entry, and providing easier access to information. And, the interoperability and ease of use in New World’s software has dramatically improved communication and organization for dispatchers during mutual aid responses.

Kane County has seen significant savings and improved safety thanks to infrastructure improvements, technology updates, and their partnership with New World Systems:

"Technology is a tool to help us do our jobs better. New World Sytems' solutions help us provide better public safety with quicker response times and improved communications between dispatchers, officers and agencies we work wtih on a daily basis. As far as I'm concerned, New World is brining us out of the dark ages and into the future."
