Hanover County needed an easy-to-use system that would automate operations.

Hanover County chose New World Systems Aegis CAD and Records Management to enhance
services to the community.

CAD prioritizes calls to ensure high-priority incidents are addressed first
In 1993, Hanover County made a commitment to improve its public safety
communications, and the Sheriff's Department selected New World Systems
of Troy, Mich., to provide its Aegis Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and
Records Management software applications.
After a careful review of numerous vendors, Hanover County officials
decided that New World proposed the most comprehensive suite of software
solutions. The county later licensed such additional modules as Field
Investigations, Alarms Tracking and Billing, Bookings, E-911 interface and
Photo Lineups/Mug Shots.
"New World's package is very well written and addresses virtually all of our
needs," said Director of Emergency Communications Phil Heins. "With the
purchase of some additional modules and some minor modifications, we
were able to find a system that completely met our CAD and emergency
communication needs."
During that same time period, an 800 MHz, trunked radio system replaced
the county's outdated four channel, VHF two-way radio. County officials also
established a fully featured, completely enhanced 911 system, furthering
signifying its commitment to improving services.
Heins and his co-workers benefit in many ways from New World's fully
integrated software. Dispatchers enter emergency and service related calls in
a timely, efficient manner, and track all unit activity such as traffic stops.
Unlimited narrative can be added to any call for service, and all data is
automatically time-stamped.
The Hanover County Sheriff's Department uses the software to track house
watches, potential hazards to officers, wants and warrants, past criminal
activity and more. Every call is GEO-verified and personnel records are
maintained online.
Two additional interfaces allow the agency to activate the Zetron tone and
voice pagers when a call is dispatched and receive and transmit TDD call
information through the system.
"With the use of New World's software, we are able to provide the citizens of
Hanover County and other public safety agencies with an extremely high level
of public safety services," Heins said.
As a result of Hanover County's partnership with New World, virtually all
emergency communications, law enforcement records and regional jail
operations are completely automated with the software. This is particularly
important as the county attempts to streamline public safety communications
to match this continued growth.
Heins feels New World's quality of service and employee base is a major
strength of the company. New World has promptly responded to the
county's service needs and continues to ensure comprehensive customer
service is provided.
"We have enjoyed a very good working relationship with New World," said
Heins. "We've gained a wealth of knowledge from the company and its
employees. I see this partnership only getting stronger."
