The Village of Palatine, Ill. prioritizes exceptional customer service
New World Systems Public Administration solution selected to streamline business processes and empower citizens

The Village of Palatine, Ill. is significantly improving efficiency and service to citizens with the help of new solutions and best practices from an industry leader. The Village has signed a contract to license New World Systems’ integrated Logos.NET® Public Administration suite of applications on the Microsoft.NET™ platform to replace an older, highly customized system that is no longer supported. New World’s web-based solution will provide the Village with advanced workflow that will save time for employees and offer citizens an opportunity to communicate and conduct business with the Village online.
“Our constituents expect to interact with government online, and we will not allow ourselves to fall behind because our software does not have those capabilities,” said Larry Schroth, IT Director. “Using New World’s solutions, many of our transactions with constituents and vendors will be possible 24 hours a day. By engaging in this kind of electronic communication we will be able to serve our customers much better.”
A committee of representatives from all departments within the Village conducted a thorough and detailed evaluation of available solutions in order to find the perfect software and company to meet their needs. Because the Village wanted to improve business processes, the committee focused on finding a new solution and partner that would also introduce best practices for improved efficiency.

New World Systems not only met the committee’s software and technology requirements, but proved to be the best fit for the Village when it came to improving operations through best practices and ease of use.
“By making our business processes more efficient and integrated, we will help automate the information flow within the Village, enabling faster service to our customers,” said Paul Mehring, Finance Director. “We found New World’s software was the easiest to use and had the most clear workflow and organization. It will allow us to focus more on the customer and less on performing our everyday tasks.”
New World will provide the Village of Palatine with Logos.NET Financial Management, Payroll and Human Resources, Utility Management, Community Development and eSuite software developed in-house using proven Microsoft.NET™ technology, industry-standard Windows® Server and SQL® Server. Advanced electronic workflow and automated checks and balances within New World’s software will ensure information accuracy and help reduce paperwork. The completely integrated system will also improve access to information and reporting, and eliminate redundant data entry for the Village.
“Financial data must be both timely and accurate,” said Mehring. “The enhanced and flexible reporting in New World’s software will allow more users to easily run reports. Our managers will be freed from report producing to perform more report analyzing, allowing us to make fast, well-informed decisions based on current financial information.”
In addition to integration and improved information sharing between Village departments, New World’s solutions will also allow Palatine to leverage their current investment in mapping technology for community development. Embedded directly into New World’s software, ESRI maps provide users with detailed map and location information from a single application.
“New World’s integration with technologies we use every day, including ESRI and Laserfiche, was important to us,” said Schroth. “New World is spending their time in the right areas. Instead of forcing us to replace solutions we’ve invested in, the Company has integrated them directly into their solution. Accomplishing everything through a single application will mean much more productivity for us.”
New World’s eSuite software will also allow the Village to extend more services to citizens and employees online. By providing the opportunity for residents to pay bills online and employees to complete benefit enrollment from a web site, the Village of Palatine will save even more time for staff and constituents.
The Village of Palatine will use New World’s solutions to better serve a population of more than 67,000 residents.
